Interclub

Much like weekend rugby or netball, interclub is an integral part of the table tennis system; providing a pathway for developing players and as a means of competition for those who are keen. The competition which runs in Wellington is founded upon the same ideals as the famed German Bundesliga and Chinese Super League, being hotly contested for by a number of clubs and teams.

Each year Table Tennis Wellington hosts several interclub competitions which boast a wide and spectacular array of competitors from around the greater Wellington region.

Belmont Table Tennis Club is delighted to manage and facilitate a number of teams in the competition, which ranges from social beginner levels right through to the competitive Premier grades. Interclub allows for players of all ages and abilities to compete whether it be for fun, exercise or for the more serious side of things.

In the recently completed 2012 installment, we are proud to have the Wellington Premier One Champions, the Belmont Blasters, who went through the entire fifteen rounds without losing a single fixture. Their closest competitors came in the form of fellow members in Belmont Bang, who eventually finished as credible runners-up. We are also proud for the 2012 Wellington Premier Three runners-up (Belmont Barbarians) and the 2012 Wellington Premier Four Champions (Belmont 38) to call Belmont home.

As well as holding a number of these teams and others who vy for bragging rights in their respective Premier grades, Belmont also manages the largest number of junior teams which further puts us ahead in our goal to be the best and biggest table tennis club operating in Wellington and beyond.
